We understand that some weeks you need a little more than just a cup of coffee to help you feeling and looking your absolute best. That’s why we’ve combined our 7 favourite coffee body care tips that anybody can get behind. These body care tips will leave your appearance feeling as revived and energised as you do after a cup (or two…or three) of coffee. Seeing as a cup of coffee isn’t supposed to break the bank, neither should taking care of your body that’s why our tips are not only fast, natural, and leave you smelling amazing but they only incorporate ingredients you most likely already have in your home!

1. Puffy eyes begone

It’s Monday morning and we can already hear you groan. You’re ready to erase your late night weekend and get on with your day but your eyes have a different idea. “Why can’t they just let the past go?” we hear you ask. If puffy eyes are giving you away in your early morning meeting, why not give them a little tightening boost using two simple ingredients. Combine one egg white and two tablespoons of ground coffee in a bowl and beat until frothy. Pop the mixture on under your eyes for five to ten minutes (this is the part where we’d suggest you sip on a nice cup of joe) until you feel it tightening. Wash off with a warm cloth and there you have it: an external coffee pick me up to go with your internal coffee boost.

2. Scalp exfoliating for clean, shiny hair that’s ready to grow

If you’re after luscious, dandruff-free hair that smells yummy we’re here to help. Coffee hair scrubs can help eliminate the build up of product, dirt, and oil leaving your hair feeling squeaky clean. Caffeine is said to stimulate hair follicles, helping your hair grow thicker, fuller and shinier. All you need is two tablespoons of coffee grounds, two tablespoons of olive oil and two tablespoons of honey. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and massage into your hair before washing the mixture out with your regular shampoo and conditioner.

3. Radiant skin in 30 seconds? Yes please

You’re halfway through your work week and Friday can’t come round any faster. You’re behind on your deadlines, your boss is on your back and to top it all off your skin is starting to look a little dull. We can’t help you with your workload but we can give you a quick, simple recipe to getting that skin in check. Coffee grounds are a perfect, natural way to exfoliate dead skin. The buildup of dead skin cells can mix with your body’s natural oils (sebum) which can clog up your pores making your skin break out and look dull. Incorporate coffee grounds into your favourite DIY face mask for a gentle exfoliating kick or just couple two tablespoons of virgin olive oil with two tablespoons of coffee grounds for a quick skin reviver. Leave the mixture on your face for 30 seconds before washing it off with lukewarm water. Soft, radiant skin in under a minute using at home ingredients? That’s the type of stuff that makes getting up worth it.

4. Tasty lip scrub

Last time we checked, chapped lips were never part of the work chic aesthetic. For supple, soft lips combine a tablespoon of ground coffee, a fourth of a tablespoon of honey and half a tablespoon of your favourite edible oil (we love coconut oil for this recipe). Rub the scrub all over your lips, wipe off (or eat it, we’re not judging), apply a lip balm on top and voila! Silky smooth lips.

5. Body scrub for dry skin

Have you got big end of week plans lined up where you’re wanting to show a little more skin? We’re sure you’ve seen all the recent body scrub hype. We’re also sure that you’ve seen that the small scrub packets come with pretty hefty price tags. Here’s our favourite, at-home recipe that won’t break the bank and will leave you with soft, nourished skin. Just combine half a cup of coffee grounds, a fourth of a cup of brown sugar and a fourth of a cup of coconut oil. Use in the shower on your entire body and come out smelling and feeling incredible!

You can always save your coffee scrub to use later !

6. Darken your hair using coffee

If you’re wanting to boost your hair colour but not wanting to subject your hair to harsh chemicals, why not opt for coffee hair tinting? Commercial hair dyes can leave your hair feeling dry, frazzled and brittle. Incorporating a cup of brewed coffee (that you’ve let cool down) into your conditioner with a couple of tablespoons of ground coffee can naturally deepen the colour of your hair and tint any protruding gray hairs. Lather your hair with the coffee-conditioner concoction and leave in for 5 minutes. Repeat multiple times to keep deepening your hair colour.

Adding coffee to your conditioner can work wonders

7. Coffee foot scrub

Put your feet up and relax on your Sunday with an exfoliating, moisturising foot scrub. Mix a cup of coconut oil, half a cup of ground coffee and one to two teaspoons of vanilla extract. Soak your feet in warm, soapy water for 10 minutes before scrubbing your feet with the mixture to remove dead skin cells. Finish with your favourite foot cream to lock in moisture and you’re good to go!
